Speech, Language, and Auditory Services

OC SLP conducts speech, language, and auditory evaluations and provides services to assist children (from birth to age 18 years) with skill development in these areas. The sessions are conducted:

  • Individually.

  • Indoors or outdoors at OC SLP or the client’s home (based on the client’s wants/needs).

  • With or without the horses’ assistance (based on the client’s wants/needs). No experience is required to interact with the horses for equine-assisted therapy.

Parents/caregivers may be involved in the sessions so that they may learn strategies to facilitate the child’s development outside of OC SLP.

Cognitive-Communication, Language, and Swallowing Services

OC SLP also conducts cognitive-communication and swallowing screenings as well as provides treatment to adults diagnosed with aphasia (acquired neurogenic language disorder), dysphagia (swallowing disorder), and/or dementia. The sessions are conducted:

  • Individually.

  • Indoors or outdoors at OC SLP or the client’s home (based on the client’s wants/needs).

WHAT‘S SUPPORTED

HOW TO GET STARTED

FIRST STEP:

Consultation. Contact Dr. Krista McMorran-Maus at OC SLP to schedule a free phone consultation to discuss your or your child’s potential needs and determine whether a screening or evaluation is necessary. The costs of the screening or evaluation and services may also be discussed at this time.

SECOND STEP:

Evaluation. If a screening or assessment is necessary, one will be completed to identify your or your child’s strengths and challenges. Afterwards, the findings will be discussed with you and, if services are indicated, a plan to support your or your child’s needs will be created with your input.

THIRD STEP:

Services. If a plan is created, services will be delivered regularly and in person as specified by the plan. Updates on your and your child’s progress will also be provided regularly to you.
